Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a system of slow movements, breathing techniques and meditations that promote relaxation and self-healing.  This is an ancient practice used to accumulate, cleanse, and refine our life force (Qi), improving the health and harmony of mind and body. It is related to Taiji Chuan (Tai Chi), but is generally thought of as more meditative and straightforward to practice. Qigong can be used for health and healing, spiritual development or martial arts.

Mindfulness practices involve learning to pay attention in a particular way: in the present moment and without judgment. It is a way of developing a new relationship with your thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations; reducing the ways we struggle and fight with ourselves.  Integrating mindfulness into your daily life has been shown to decrease a range of symptoms including: chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression and hypertension.  Mindfulness can be taught individually or by attending programs such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or Optimized Living Training.
